Typical Weekly Schedule

Day one:  'Splash Day'

We kick off each week with camp orientation.  Each camper is given their PFD (personal flotation device) for the week and we talk through the importance of safety and the Camp Code of Conduct.  The campers also each complete a swim assessment.

We spend the rest of the day completing team building activities - rigging the sail boats, capsizing drills, knot tying games, raft building, to name just a few.  Right away, everyone gets comfortable with the wind and water, handles all the equipment and starts to make friends.

Days two/three/four:  'ROTATIONS'

Over the next three days (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) the campers will rotate around our three activities:  Sailing, kayaking & Canoeing and SUPing.

The morning session begins with an introduction to each sport and a short on shore safety discussion.  Then its time to start learning and practicing new skills on the water.

SAILING:  Basic upwind and downwind sailing skills, wind awareness, tacking and gybing, capsizing & righting the boats.

KAYAK / CANOE:  Boat handling, body positioning, strokes, recoveries and water safety.

SUP:  Paddling techniques, body positioning, how to optimize your core strength & safe launching and recovery.

In the afternoon the campers put their new skills to the test with games, challenges and expeditions exploring the lake.  For example, windward - leeward sailing races, a SUP adventure to the mysterious marshlands across the lake or Kayak and canoe acrobatics.

On the last day we hold our very own Olympic Games. Each group has now honed their skills, mastered their vessels and united as a true ship's crew. Which team has learnt the most and will sail away to victory?

An action packed day of fun competitions and games awaits!

We conclude the week with an awards ceremony. Every camper receives a certificate to take home.
