From Memorial Day through Labor Day, every Saturday afternoon from 1pm - 3pm it is exclusively Ladies Sailing!
Stop by after work and try something new: 2 hours of sailing, and then everyone is welcome to join us for a bite to eat and a drink afterwards. It is a great opportunity not only to learn how to sail, but also to meet like minded ladies and have lots of fun. Everyone is welcome - no matter how old you are or experienced.
Women make amazing sailors. Sailing is more about the brains than the brawn - finesse, good planning and precision timing are some of the attributes of an excellent sailor. The idea behind 'women only' sailing is to create a supportive and encouraging environment for women to learn. It's not that we don't love the boys (!), but men and women both learn, and make decisions, in different ways and paces. From our experience this is a very effective way for women to learn how to sail.
The sailing industry is dominated by men - averaging out at 60 years of age. We feel, at Colorado Watersports, that it is our responsibility to help change these figures! Being about as far away from the Ocean as we could be, isn't going to stop us. We hope that by hosting these ladies nights and building up a female sailing community in Denver, we can empower women to be more confident on and off the water.
When is Ladies Night? Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. June 7 - August.
Where is Ladies Night? Roxborough Cove on the Chatfield Reservoir. See our 'Contact Us' Tab for more details.
Do I need experience? No, not at all. Everyone is welcome! Any age or ability.
What should I bring/wear? Wear a swim suit, quick dry clothing, sun hat, sunglasses and shoes that can get wet. Bring a towel and an extra set of clothing with you to change into afterwards. If you have cycling gloves these can help too.
BOOKINGS: Once you have purchased the ladies night, you will receive an email with instructions for booking.
See you there!
